My Book
Learning the Art of Exhibiting Your Own Dog

My handling book became a reality several years ago when I realized that my students would need an at home reference that would guide them through the various techniques learned in class. With that in mind, I was determined to create a manual that would be both easy to read, hopefully enjoyable without being tedious, and contain plenty of illustrations and photos.
The book, I think, appeals to the novice handler as well as the intermediate stage of skill level. I have attempted to guide the reader from the first time puppy hopeful, to the coveted end result of best in show or best puppy in show.
Pattern diagrams, leash types and positioning, dog show attire and good sportsmanship are just a few of the important items detailed in the book.

The book is always a work in progress, and with each new printing, I am adding new features to enhance it even more.
The book is modestly priced and is certainly a labour of love on my part but more importantly it is my heartfelt contribution to those individuals who sincerely crave the knowledge and expertise to be successful and professional in the show ring.

I have also written two other books of which I am rather proud; one describing the Bullmastiff and the other the French Bulldog. These books are my humble contribution to the dog fancy wishing to understand more fully these two intriguing breeds. The Bullmastiff book was written many years ago as an extension to breed seminars that I presented at national specialties. Since then, it has undergone several transformations as detail and illustrations became more necessary. The French Bulldog is a very recent endeavour. Both issues chronicle in my own words, the fundamental type, form, function and colour, as described in the standards that are the essential hallmarks of each breed.
